Curtain/Side Air Bag System
One of the biggest advances in Murano safety: Curtain side-impact air bags cover the side windows and help protect both front and rear-outboard passengers in case of a side-impact collision. Standard side-impact air bags help protect your chest area in certain side impacts. Built into the front seats, not the door panels, so they move with you when you adjust the seat. Murano is also equipped with a rollover sensor. When an impending rollover is detected, the system deploys the curtain air bags and keeps them inflated long enough to help provide enhanced protection.

Active Head Restraints
Pretensioners/Load Limiters
Zone Body Construction

Active Head Restraints
Active head restraints actually move forward toward your head when you're rear-ended, helping to reduce whiplash injuries for you and your front passenger.

Pretensioners/Load Limiters
Front seat belts with pretensioners automatically help tighten the belts when the front air bags deploy. And if your body puts too much force on the belt, load limiters give a little bit. Murano also features 3-point seat belts in all the passenger positions, including rear centre.

Zone Body Construction
High-strength steel and cross members are added to Murano's solid construction to reinforce the cabin. Crumple zones are strategically placed front and rear to help absorb crash energy. Bonnet buckling creases help to prevent the bonnet from intruding in the cabin. And to help reduce injury in side impacts, pipe-style steel side-door guard beams in each of Murano's doors. These structural elements are just a few of the more than 50 standard safety features on every Murano.
